EtreCheckPro overview
EtreCheck is an app that displays the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac. EtreCheck automatically removes any personally identifiable information from the output.
EtreCheck will automatically alert you to serious problems like adware, insufficient RAM, or a failing hard drive.

Not only is EtreCheck slow and ugly, it's totally useless and does not provide better or more useful information that the built in macOS tools offer. Utterly pointless yet somehow spammed everywhere on forums. Glad it got taken off the App Store!

At the time of this writing (v6.8), EtreCheck is indeed free and generates a file that will be readable in a paid version, but if you send the report via mail, it will contain a lot of useful information in plain text — enough to roughly diagnose a friend's Mac before putting your hands on it. :-)
